About Us
Outfield Farms is a 9th generation family farm located in the heart of Maine. We specialize in growing USDA organic hemp with over 8 years experience in the medical cannabis industry. In 2020, our family recognized the strong demand for accessible, effective CBD (cannabidiol) products derived from the best quality organic hemp. To meet this demand, Outfield Farms has combined American organic family farm values with state of the art CO2 extraction methods to offer the cleanest and most effective soil to shelf full spectrum CBD Wellness products available.
History
Outfield Farms’ story begins all the way back in the 18th century. In 1784, after serving as a Patriot in the American Revolution, Elijah Gay headed to the north woods frontier with his family to start a farm in what is now Farmington, Maine where we live and grow our organic hemp today. Until the 1960s, our farm mostly specialized in dairy, and over the past few decades grew organic hay for other local organic farmers. Outfield Farms is situated on the 45th parallel, along the pristine Sandy River, surrounded by forests and on the same aquifer that provides water to Poland Springs®, making our farm an ideal place to grow organic hemp. For over 200 years, our family has treated our farmland with expert care and appreciation, and we are more than pleased to share our American legacy with you through our full spectrum CBD wellness products.
Inspiration
Our family took on medical cannabis farming in 2014 as a way to help cancer patients in need, and as the direct result of two family members being diagnosed with Leukemia and Hodgkins Lymphoma in their late teens and early twenties. We started to grow medical cannabis on our family farm as part of the Maine Medical Marijuana Program; we soon expanded to patients of all ages and needs. Our brother Joseph unfortunately passed away in 2015 from Leukemia at the age of 21. Joseph was an amazing, vibrant human being and a constant source of inspiration and joy to those lucky enough to have met him; we are in this business to honor his memory, and to honor all those lost too soon to illness. Helping people is what drives us everyday to provide accessible, top quality CBD wellness options. All of our full spectrum CBD wellness products are all natural, effective, reliable, made with our 100% USDA organic hemp, third party lab tested and contain less than .3% THC.
